The IMN Investors’ conference on Marketplace Lending drew 700+ investors and issuers at the Marriott downtown in New York City. Peerform was one of the sponsors and its CEO & Co-founder, Mikael Rapaport was on the panel of Marketplace Lending & the Lenders’ Perspective representing the unsecured consumer loan segment.
The panel represented industry from consumer, commercial and residential real estate platforms, and asset securitization firm. Mikael high-lighted Peerform’s strategy of serving the middle class near-prime borrowers underserved by the banks and leading platforms. The discussion addressed the application process, identity and income verification underwriting, and marketing channels.
The conference topics evolved around the development and future expectation of marketplace lending asset securitization. Notable developments during 2015 has been growth of platform volume and number of securitized deals, both rated and unrated. While most of the emerging platforms are still in early stage to securitize, many institutional investors attending the conference view the securitization process as a vital structure for liquidity and capital access.
